I'm beginning to write again.
I'm excited to start publishing again. My main focus will be sharing ideas, insights, and resources for project managers leading teams and complex strategic initiatives.
It has been quite some time since you have heard from me on this newsletter.
Between focusing on my projects, family, and lots of personal growth, I haven’t prioritized sharing my ideas on this blog for the past few years.
Now that I have some headspace, I’ve been itching to start writing again and feel like I'm in a position to authentically share many of the things I have learned.
The purpose of The Influential Project Manager is to help YOU improve your leadership and project management skills so you can succeed at building all your life’s projects.
After a decade of building projects, it’s become clear how valuable it is to have strong project leadership. I’ve been around and worked with great project leaders and not so great ones.
The great leaders always made things look so easy. People loved them. Their projects were always delivered successfully and it wasn’t long before the client was calling them back for the next one.
Through my career, I developed an philosophy to help me grow and achieve similar results known as The Influential Project Manager (“iPM”). It’s a simple mental model anyone can use to help you take lead, make decisions, and solve problems.
What is The Influential Project Manager?
The iPM is the PM every owner wants on their project and in their organization. Why? Because they have positive influence.
The iPM has influence on the people, the situations, the problems, and solutions that occur throughout a project giving them the super power to achieve what’s most desirable - predictable outcomes.
The iPM is constantly creating win-win-win scenarios for all the stakeholders.
The iPM delivers high quality projects by minimizing waste and maximizing value.
The iPM leads a team to victory and takes extreme ownership of everything.
The iPM excels at keeping the entire team on track for a successful completion.
The iPM, above all, places people first. They treat people with respect, inspire others to grow, and continuously improve.
How My Work Will Benefit You
I'm an advocate for useful ideas. The central question I explore through my work is, “How can we build better projects and experiences?”
In other words, I want to find great ideas and explain them in a way that is easy to use and apply to your projects.
My writing focuses on topics like…
How leaders inspire and motivate their teams
How to become an Influential Project Manager
How to lead and deliver complex projects
How to provide predictable outcomes
How to minimize waste and maximize value
How to make good choices and avoid bad ones
How to accomplish more in less time
How to create better systems and processes
In each weekly newsletter (every Friday) I’m going to present news, resources, strategies, and insights I find of value to help YOU become a more influential leader, project manager, and elevate the construction industry.
I’ll be sharing my first post on Becoming The Influential Project Manager in a few days. Keep your eyes peeled.
Until next week,
Kyle Nitchen
